America x Reader Ending
"Hey [Name]! What are you up to?"
You let out a breath you didn't know you had been holding. "Jeez Al...you really scared me there..."
He laughed, the sound running through your body. "Am I really that terrifying?"
Shaking your head with laugh, you sensed one of your old friends. Turning around to spot him, you kneeled down at petted him excitedly.
"How've you been Shadow?" you asked, happiness evident on your features.
Shadow gave one loud bark in confirmation and nuzzled into your palm. You laughed at his playfulness.
"He's your dog?" Alfred asked, getting a glare and a growl from your pet.
"Down boy. This is Alfred, he's my friend. Say hi boy," you let your friend and your dog to meet each other for the first time.
Shadow looked a little suspicious, then tilted his head as of examining Alfred. "Hey there. I'm Alfred F. Jones, the hero! Nice to meet you, you must be Shadow," you laughed slightly at Al.
Apparently Shadow approved of your friend because he placed his paw on Alfred's hand as if in a handshake. He immediately let Alfred give him a pat on the head. Seeing the two of your friends together accepting each other made you smile.
"So Alfred...why are you here?" you asked, a bit confused.
Your friend went silent, looking a bit embarrassed.
"You weren't- stalking me, we're you?" you joked, raising your eyebrow.
"N-Not at all!" he retorted, raising his arms to form an 'X' in front of his face in defiance.
Laughing, you barely managed to reply, "Sure..."
You stood up, as both Alfred and Shadow followed you silently as you entered your old home. It was just like you remembered it. So many memories were stirred up as you gazed upon the small room.
"This is where I stayed before Arthur found me. It's not much, but it means a lot to me. I found Shadow living here as well," you added as Shadow nuzzled your leg.
"Oh. It seems like a nice little home," he replied awkwardly.
You smiled. He was right...in a way. "It holds a lot of memories that I don't want to forget...you know?"
"You don't have to forget! I'm sure you'll be able to visit whenever you want...right?"
"I'm not sure anymore," you sighed, lying exhausted in a rickety chair, "I mean...because of my position as a Healer, and the fact that the wars that have been going on...I can't possibly visit whenever I would like to. I just don't have that time..."
"Don't worry! The Hero's here! I'll make sure you'll be able to visit whenever you'd like!" your friend responded, eyes sparkling.
"Thanks Al, you really do know how to cheer me up," you smiled at him, cheek in hand.
Blushing profusely, he replied in embarrassment, "I-It's no problem at all! J-Just happy to help."
"Anyways, would you like some tea or something? It's the least I could do after you followed me out here," you offered, taking out some tea leaves and the old teapot with Shadow following closely behind you.
Instead of an answer, you were greeted instead with a kiss on the cheek. "That would be great," the phrase was whispered softly in your ear.
"Y-You could of just said! Y-You didn't need to include that k-kiss!" you replied, suddenly flustered.
Laughing, he winked at you and just commented indignantly-
"Oh I just wanted to~!"
Seriously...and you had to be in love with him!
